भारतीय पीएम नरेंद्र मोदी ने अपने साउथ अफ्रीका के दौरे के दूसरे दिन शनिवार को डरबन के पेंट्रिच रेलवे स्टेशन से पीटरमेरिट्जबर्ग की यात्रा की। उन्होंने यह यात्रा 1893 में महात्मा गांधी के साथ हुई घटना की याद में की। रंगभेद की वजह से महात्मा गांधी को पीटरमेरिट्जबर्ग में ट्रेन से उतार दिया गया था। यात्रा के बाद मोदी ने कहा कि साउथ अफ्रीका ही वो जगह है, जिसने मोहनदास को महात्मा बनाया।
