Sakshi Malik ने लिया संन्यास, Brijbhushan के करीबी के WFI अध्यक्ष बनने पर बोलीं- शोषण के लिए तैयार रहिए

ओलंपिक कांस्य पदक विजेता साक्षी मलिक ने गुरुवार को कहा कि भारतीय कुश्ती महासंघ (डब्ल्यूएफआई) के अध्यक्ष के रूप में संजय सिंह की जीत के बाद वह अब कुश्ती में प्रतिस्पर्धा नहीं करेंगी। यहां प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस छोड़ने से पहले साक्षी ने अपने जूते उतारकर मंच पर रख दिए और रोते हुए बोलीं। भावुक साक्षी ने कहा, “मैं निराश हूं और मैं अब कुश्ती में प्रतिस्पर्धा नहीं करूंगी।” संजय पूर्व डब्ल्यूएफआई प्रमुख बृज भूषण शरण सिंह के करीबी सहयोगी हैं, जिन्हें ओलंपियन बजरंग पुनिया, साक्षी और विनेश फोगट के नेतृत्व में पहलवानों के एक समूह द्वारा लंबे आंदोलन के बाद पद से हटा दिया गया था।
2016 Rio Olympics bronze medallist Sakshi Malik has announced quitting wrestling following Sanjay Singh being elected as president of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI).

“Yeh ladai dil se ladi (We fought this battle with our heart). In the end, we slept for 40 days on the roads but I’d like to thank the several people of our country who came to support us during the protests earlier this year. If Brij Bhushan Singh’s business partner and a close aide is elected as the president of WFI, I quit wrestling…” Malik told members of the media in a press conference in New Delhi on Thursday before she walked out in tears.

Olympic bronze medallist Sakshi Malik on Thursday said she will not be competing in wrestling anymore following Sanjay Singh’s victory as Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president. Sakshi removed her shoes and put it on the dais before leaving the press conference in tears here. “I am dejected and I will not be competing in wrestling anymore,” an emotional Sakshi said. Sanjay is a close aide of former WFI chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, who was deposed following a lengthy agitation by a group of grapplers led by Olympians Bajrang Punia, Sakshi and Vinesh Phogat.
