Jamia University News: मंगलवार रात जामिया मिल्लिया इस्लामिया कैंपस में दिवाली समारोह के दौरान विवाद हो गया। इंडियन एक्सप्रेस से बातचीत करते हुए, साउथईस्ट डीसीपी रवि कुमार सिंह ने बताया, “यह घटना शाम 7:30 से 8 बजे के बीच गेट नंबर 7 के पास हुई। एबीवीपी से जुड़े कुछ छात्र दिवाली के लिए दीये जला रहे थे और रंगोली बना रहे थे, जिससे दूसरे छात्र समूह को आपत्ति हुई। दूसरे समूह ने सजावट को तोड़ दिया, जिससे झगड़ा शुरू हो गया। दोनों पक्षों ने नारेबाजी की। शांति बनाए रखने के लिए पुलिस को तैनात किया गया, और एहतियात के तौर पर रात भर पुलिस वहां मौजूद रही। छात्रों को तितर-बितर करने के आदेश दिए गए और 9 बजे तक भीड़ हट गई।”
Speaking to The Indian Express, Ravi Kumar Singh, DCP Southeast, said, “The incident occurred around 7:30-8 pm near gate 7. A group of students affiliated with the ABVP were putting up diyas and making rangolis for Diwali, which displeased another group of students. The other group wrecked the decorations, which led to a scuffle. Both sides engaged in sloganeering. Police were deployed to maintain the peace; they are stationed there for the night as a precautionary measure. Students were ordered to disperse and the crowd left by 9 pm.”
