कोर्ट ने केजरीवाल से पूछा ‘ठुल्‍ला’ का मतलब, इंटरनेट पर मौजूद हैं ये मजेदार जवाब

पुलिसवालों पर एक विवादित टिप्‍पणी करने के मामले में दिल्‍ली के सीएम अरविंद केजरीवाल चर्चा में हैं। पुलिसवालों को ‘ठुल्‍ला’ कहने के आरोप में उनके खिलाफ एक मामला कोर्ट में चल रहा है। अदालत ने केजरीवाल से कहा है कि वे ‘ठुल्‍ला’ का मतलब विस्‍तार से बताएं। कोर्ट के मुताबिक, शब्‍दकोश में इस शब्‍द का मतलब नहीं दर्ज है। वहीं, जब इस शब्‍द का मतलब इंटरनेट पर तलाश गया तो कई जवाब सामने आए। एक जवाब पर तो सभी सहमत थे कि यह उत्‍तर भारत में पुलिसवालों के लिए इस्‍तेमाल होने वाला स्‍लैंग (slang) शब्‍द है और पुलिसकर्मियों के लिए इसका इस्‍तेमाल अपमानजनक माना जाता है।

‘ठुल्‍ला’ के लिए कुछ अन्‍य परिभाषाएं इंटरनेट पर सामने आईं, वो ये रहीं

एक व्याख्‍या के मुताबिक, ‘ठुल्‍ला’ शब्‍द की उत्‍पत्‍त‍ि पूर्वी भारत में हुई है। वहां जूट से बने थैलों या बैग्‍स को ‘ठुला’ कहा जाता है। चूंकि, जूट का कलर खाकी होता है और पुलिसवालों की वर्दी भी खाकी कलर की होती है, इसलिए उनके लिए इस शब्‍द का इस्‍तेमाल होता है।

एक अन्‍य परिभाषा के मुताबिक, ‘ठुल्‍ला’ शब्‍द शुरुआत में सुस्‍त और बड़े तोंद वाले पुलिसवालों के लिए इस्‍तेमाल किया जाता था। बाद में यह पुलिसवालों के लिए बहुतायत में इस्‍तेमाल होने लगा और चलन में आ गया। इंटरनेट पर कुछ जानकारों ने ‘ठुल्‍ला’ शब्‍द को ‘निठल्‍ले’ या ‘वेल्‍ले’ शब्‍द जैसा बताया है, जिसका मतलब ‘कुछ भी काम न करने वाला’ बताया गया है।

‘Thulla’ or ‘ठुल्ला’ word is a slang used by the people of North India, especially people from NCR. This word was earlier used for the corrupt policemen, and had limited use since Delhi Police used to be honest back then.
