Aparajita Bill: पश्चिम बंगाल विधानसभा में मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने कहा, “…मैंने प्रधानमंत्री को दो पत्र लिखे थे, लेकिन मुझे उनसे कोई जवाब नहीं मिला। बल्कि मुझे महिला और बाल विकास मंत्री से जवाब मिला, लेकिन मैंने उनके जवाब का भी जवाब दिया और प्रधानमंत्री को इसकी जानकारी दी। जब चुनाव से पहले न्याय संहिता विधेयक जल्दबाजी में पास किया गया था, तब मैंने कहा था कि इसे जल्दबाजी में पास नहीं करना चाहिए, इस पर राज्यों से सलाह नहीं ली गई थी। मैंने कई बार इसका विरोध किया क्योंकि इस संबंध में राज्यों से कोई सलाह नहीं ली गई थी। इसे राज्यसभा, विपक्ष और सभी दलों के साथ चर्चा के बाद पारित किया जाना चाहिए था, लेकिन ऐसा नहीं किया गया। इसी कारण आज हम यह (विधेयक) ला रहे हैं…”
West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday said she had spoken to the family members of the doctor on August 9, the day the postgraduate trainee medic was raped and murdered at Kolkata’s RG Kar Hospital, and provided them with CCTV footage to ensure transparency.Speaking in the state assembly, Banerjee said, “I spoke to the victim’s parents the same day the incident took place. Before visiting their home, they were given all audio, video, and CCTV footage for transparency. I requested time till Sunday to arrest everyone involved and assured them that if we failed, I would hand over the case to the CBI on Monday.”
