Teachers Day Special: ये हैं डॉक्टर स्मिता पुनियानी जिन्होंने शुरू किया है आशा मुंबई जो एक NGO है, वंचित बच्चों को पढ़ाई के मौके देने के लिए पूरी तरह समर्पित है। ये एक स्वैच्छिक संगठन है, जिसमें कई Activists शामिल हैं, जो कुछ अच्छा बदलाव लाने की कोशिश कर रहे हैं। उनका मानना है कि शिक्षा ही किसी बच्चे के भविष्य को बनाने में सबसे अहम रोल निभाती है, और इससे पूरे देश का भविष्य भी सुधर सकता है…देखिये हमारी ये खाश रिपोर्ट

Asha Mumbai is a non-profit socio-educational organization that is committed to provide educational opportunities to underprivileged children. It is a voluntary organization, comprising dedicated individuals from community striving to make a difference in the society. She writes We believe that education is one of the most important factors in shaping a child’s future and by extension, future of the entire country. The center functions from 8 AM to eve 9PM. There are 8 to 10 paid teachers in various levels. Two of them are from IIT – one holding PhD degree and one MSc. Other teachers are also well qualified teachers. We are getting regular student volunteers from IIT Mumbai and St Xaviers under a structured program. Apart from that, lots of other volunteers from the community are teaching at Asha. The mission is to provide the best possible assistance almost equivalent to the privileged class children to the most underprivileged students who just would not get an opportunity otherwise due to their socioeconomic conditions.
