Kings XI Punjab beat Rajasthan Royals by 6 wickets
That's all we have from Super Sunday. Mumbai won their match against Kolkata earlier in the evening to stay alive in the tournament while Punjab broke their 2-match losing run with a convincing win over Rajasthan. Tomorrow, there is a single game coming your way. It will be Hyderabad hosting Bangalore at 2000 IST (1430 GMT). Do join us for all the action. Cheers!
Mujeeb Ur Rahman is adjudged the Man of the Match for his fantastic bowling spell. His figures of 4-0-27-3 bamboozled Rajasthan. The Afghan continues to enjoy a good debut season.
Credit should be given to Rajasthan for trying hard but they didn't have enough runs in the bank. Still, their bowlers fared exceedingly well to create immense pressure but towards the end, they gave it away. Till the second strategic break, the visitors were in with a chance but Stoinis and Rahul changed gears after that to earn an easy win. So, the hundred percent record for a chasing team winning in Indore remains in tact.
Just when it seemed that the pair of Rahul and Nair will run away with the show, Anureet Singh struck to send the latter back to the pavilion. The promotion of Axar Patel didn't go as per the plan for Punjab but the presence of KL Rahul in the middle meant that they were always hopeful. Eventually, he got an ally in Marcus Stoinis and together they overhauled the target with 8 balls to spare.
It wasn't a usual dashing performance upfront by Punjab in their innings. In fact, it was a subdued one. Chris Gayle and Mayank Agarwal departed in quick succession and the hosts ended up with their lowest Powerplay score of the season. Rajasthan had the upper hand at that stage of the match but the combination of Rahul and Nair raised a fifty stand to keep the chase on track.
Done and dusted in style! Take a bow, KL Rahul! Tremendous batting effort by the opener. So far in this season, he provided brisk starts to his team and today showed his other side of the game as he anchored this chase and steered Punjab closer to the playoff berth. Rajasthan will be deeply disappointed at the moment as once again they failed to cross the line. Their season is just refusing to take off after a promising start.

This game is nicely poised at the moment. 51 needed off 30 balls. KL Rahul holds the key but he will need support from the other end. Rajasthan have a few good death bowlers and let's see how they fare in this crunch situation. We're in for an entertaining finish and that's for sure.
Strategic break.

1
Jaydev Unadkat to Lokesh Rahul, Full pitch delivery on off and Rahul plays a drive to the cover region. They steal a quick single.
14.5
Jaydev Unadkat to Lokesh Rahul, NOT OUT is the call from the TV umpire! There wasn't enough evidence to suggest whether the catch taken by Samson was clean or not and the third umpire goes with the call from his mates on the field. Short of a length ball and Rahul backs away to cut that. But he slices it to backward point where Samson dives forward and goes for it with both the hands. Catches it really low and starts to celebrate. But the replays didn't find any angle to support his claim.
Sanju Samson has taken a fantastic diving catch and is claiming it! He starts to celebrate straightaway, but the umpires aren't convinced and the soft signal is NOT OUT! Soft signal is very important in such cases as now the TV umpire will need to have a conclusive evidence to overturn the on-field call. What will be the final decision?
14.4
1

Krishnappa Gowtham to Axar Patel, OUT! Axar wanted to go big but D'Arcy found him 'Short' with a large leap near the fence. Ignore my love for wordplay. Gowtham darts this on the stumps and Patel goes for the big shot over mid-wicket. Patel looks to up the scoring rate as he goes for the big heave across the line but he fails to connect properly. The Aussie in the deep shows his athleticism and takes a fine catch. Excellent effort from D'Arcy at deep mid wicket! He fully stretched himself with a leap and pouches that one quite nicely! Another flop show from Axar. His team is trying to make a Krunal Pandya out of him but so far has not succeeded.

Smart piece of bowling from Singh, he took some pace off it and outclassed the Punjab batter. Nair goes for the pull but was quite early into the shot and gets a fat bottom edge. This season keeps going downhill for Agarwal, he stands there in disbelief and starts to walk back. Short of a length delivery, Mayank nails the pull shot to perfection but unfortunately for him, he finds Tripathi in the deep who doesn't have to move an inch. The West Indian absolutely smashes a short delivery through the line, doesn't bother to keep it down and it has gone straight to the fielder at point. Samson shows tremendous guts to put his hands up to catch that and he comes out unharmed after taking it! That's ferociously struck and was travelling at a lightning speed. Out walk Chris Gayle and KL Rahul to open the batting. The duo has scored 5 consecutive 50-plus stands this season. Will they make it 6? Krishnappa Gowtham to have a go with the ball first up. Mujeeb Ur Rahman was the star performer for the home team as he got rid of a well-set Jos Buttler and then removed the dangerous Ben Stokes. Andrew Tye also was excellent with his variations while the other bowlers with the exception of Ankit Rajpoot also did their job efficiently. They made sure that Rajasthan never got going, although Shreyas Gopal's handy cameo towards the end took Rajasthan over the 150-run mark. This isn't a daunting total for Punjab but a couple of quick wickets can open this game. Do join us in a while for the run chase.
Brilliant bowling performance from Punjab. The hosts were in complete control throughout the innings despite a good knock from Jos Buttler. Punjab got the opening breakthrough in the very first over as Ashwin had Short caught at mid on. Ajinkya Rahane didn't last long after that and the visiting team was in a spot of bother. The 49-run stand between Samson and Buttler tried to revive the innings but once this pair was separated, the Rajasthan innings started to crumble.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman to Ben Stokes, OUT! A stunning effort from the two Punjab boys in the deep! Simply magnificent! This will go down as one of the best catches of the tournament! Game-changing moment! Stokes goes down on one knee and lofts it away to long off. He doesn't get enough power behind it and gets caught by Mayank in the deep. Momentum was taking him over the line but he has the presence of mind to ask Tiwary who is coming in from long on to stay there. He quickly flicks it to his mate and Manoj takes it safely.
