लिटिल मास्टर के नाम से मशहूर सुनील गावस्कर को भारत में क्रिकेट के खेल को लोकप्रिय बनाने और सैकड़ों रिकॉर्ड अपने नाम करने के लिए जाना जाता है। आज वे 66 साल के हो गए। सर डॉन ब्रैडमैन के 29 शतकों के रिकॉर्ड की बराबरी हो या टेस्ट क्रिकेट में 10,000 रन बनाने का कारनामा, गावस्कर का करियर उपलब्धियों से भरा रहा है। उनके जन्मदिन के मौके पर सोशल मीडिया पर बधाई संदेशों की बाढ़ सी आ गई है। दिग्गज क्रिकेटर्स के अलावा प्रशासनिक अधिकारियों और नेताओं-अभिनेताओं ने भी सनी को बधाई दी है। विस्फोटक बल्लेबाज वीरेंद्र सहवाग ने तो सुनील गावस्कर को ‘क्रिकेट का शोले’ बताया है। सहवाग ने ट्विटर पर लिखा, ‘जो गावस्कर ने बिना हेलमेट के किया, वह आज सारे उपकरणों के बावजूद बेहद मुश्किल है। अगर क्रिकेट एक फिल्म है तो सुनील शोले हैं।’
